The Captive Temple by Jude Watson

The Captive Temple by Jude Watson
132 pages

After Cerasi's death, Obi-Wan left Melida/Daan and returned to the Jedi Temple, hoping Qui-Gon would take him back. He knows he is meant to be a Jedi, and he's willing to completely dedicate himself. But Qui-Gon is not so sure about taking Obi-Wan back as his apprentice. The pain from his second betrayal is not the only thing holding Qui-Gon back, though. The Temple is under attack. Someone in the Temple is an informant to an enemy, and that enemy has tried to kill Yoda. Lukily, Yoda is not so easily surprised.
It's up to Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to uncover the clues and find out who the enemy is. They are prepared for a ruthless, clever intruder, but the identity of the conspirator catches them off guard. The enemy turns out to be someone who is a little too familial, and he's back for a second chance at revenge.

The Uncertain Path by Jude Watson

The Uncertain Path by Jude Watson
140 pages

Obi-Wan Kenobi has left the Jedi Order to join with his friends in the revolution on Melida/Daan. He feels a connection with Cerasi that he has never felt before; in the Jedi Order, he never had close friends his age. But even now, something seems missing. Without Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan feels lost. And then the Young's rebellion begins to break apart. With parents fighting their children, the war takes on a new turn.
Meanwhile, at the Jedi Temple, Qui-Gon and Tahl are investigating a string of annoying thefts occurring right inside the temple!

"You seem uncomfortable," Qui-Gon began neutrally. "This is not an inquisition."
    Bant nodded uneasily.
"But you can see that withe the thefts, we need to speak with all students."
    Again, she nodded.
"Would you consent to have your room searched?"
    Of-of course," Bant replied.
"Have you ever violated Temple security?"
"No," Bant said, her voice wobbling a bit.
Tahl leaned over to murmur in Qui-Gon's ear. "She is afraid of you."
Yes, Qui-Gon could feel it, too. Why should Bant be afraid?
"Why are you afraid?" he asked sternly.
Bant swallowed. "B-because you are Qui-Gon Jinn. You took Obi-Wan away. All he wanted was to be your Padawan, but a short while later, he left the Jedi. And I wonder..."
   "What?" Qui-Gon asked.
"W-what you did to him," she whispered.

The Defenders of the Dead by Jude Watson

The Defenders of the Dead by Jude Watson
140 pages

Qui-Gon and Obi-wan are on a very difficult mission. The planet Melida/Daan is in the midst of a civil war. The Melida and the Daan do not trust each other and have kept the war alive for years by passing down their ancestor's stories. The Jedi have only been able to enter the main city with the help of Wehutti, a Melida who wants the fighting to end. Or does he?
Wehutti doesn't want the Jedi to negotiate peace, he wants them to fight on his side. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan just barely escape and find help with the Young-teenage rebels who fight for neither side. The Young want peace. They want to destroy the boundaries between the Melida and the Daan. The leaders, Cerasi and Nield, want the Jedi's help. Qui-Gon refuses, but will Obi-Wan remember that Jedi do not take sides in a war?

The Fellowship of the Ring

YESS!!! I have finally seen the first Lord of the Rings movie :D
And I loved it :) (Don't worry, Star Wars is still #1!)

Here's the trailer:

I definitely recommend it to everyone who loves fantasy and epic adventure, but it's PG-13, so it's pretty creepy.

I can't wait to see The Two Towers. And really hope I'll see all three in time to see The Hobbit in theatres.

Gandalf: Confound it all, Samwise Gamgee. Have you been eavesdropping?
Sam: I ain't been droppin' no eaves sir, honest. I was just cutting the grass under the window there, if you'll follow me.
Gandalf: A little late for trimming the verge, don't you think?
Sam: I heard raised voices.
Gandalf: What did you hear? Speak.
Sam: N-nothing important. That is, I heard a good deal about a ring, and a Dark Lord, and something about the end of the world, but... Please, Mr. Gandalf, sir, don't hurt me. Don't turn me into anything... unnatural.

And, of course, since i'm a Barbie collector, these have been added to my wishlist:

Aren't they lovely?
And no, I don't just collect any old barbie. most of them are not so lovely, but the movie and Dolls of the World lines are usually nice...

"A rose, by any other name, would smell as sweet."

Don't worry, Need2read hasn't left, I'm still here. I just change my name. Now I'm Padmé Arya Éowyn Istalrí Skywalker. It's long, I know, but I really like it. Each of the names mean something to me. Here is the explaination:

 Padmé

"I will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war."

Padmé is strong, brave and beautiful. She's not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what is right. She's probably my favourite character from the Star Wars saga.

Arya

"To late. It's hatched. ... Poor Durza, how will he tell the king? You failed."

Arya is the Elf princess from Eragon. But she's not just a princess, she also a warrior. And she's not afraid, even in the face of torture and death. **SPOILER**And in the last book of the Inheritance cycle, she becomes a Rider.

Éowyn

"I fear neither death nor pain. ... [I fear]A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age; accept them and all chance of valor has gone beyond recall or desire."
Éowyn is a noblewoman, but she refuses to sit around and do nothing when she can help. When left behind, she dresses as a man and joins the quest anyway. In the end, she ends up destroying the Witch King, whom no one else could defeat.

On day at lunch, my friends were matching everyone in the circle with Lord of the Rings characters. They matched me with Éowyn. At the time, I had no idea who she was, but now I do. If this is who my friends see me as, then I am honoured.

Istalrí

"Istalrí" means fire in the Ancient Language of the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini.
Istalrí is also the name of my baby dragon.

Fire reminds me of Katniss, Girl on Fire, from The Hunger Games.

"I volunteer! No! I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!"

Katniss puts her family before herself. She risks discovery and punishment when she hunts illegally to keep her mother and sister from starving. When her sister is chosen for The Games, Katniss volunteers to take Prim's place, saving her sister from certain death.

Skywalker

"I'm a Jedi."

As a young boy, Anakin Skywalker took the fate of strangers into his own hands and risked his life in a dangerous race to help them. One of those strangers was a Jedi, who identified Anakin as The Chosen One.
As a result, he became a Jedi himself.
He gave up his normal way of life to serve the Jedi order and help beings in the galaxy.
During his time as a Jedi, he struggled to follow the Code. In conflict, he fell to the Dark Side.
But years later, he was redeemed by his son when he realized that love is stronger than all the powers of darkness.

So, that's my new name. I really like it, and I hope you do, too. Let me know what you think!
